As much as practitioners tend to be very passionate about their modalities (well, would you want to go to someone who didnt believe in what they were doing?), research shows that the modality is not the only contributing factor to a successful outcome. Please remember that all practitioners have their own style, personality and life experience that they bring to their work, so the “same” work may be true and authentic to the base modality and yet have some differences in style of its application, compared with what you may have experienced, or had described to you. Which is perhaps as it should be, as no one can please all of the people all off the time…
I suggest that when looking for a new practitioner, do some research, sense whom you are attracted to working with, and feel free to call them, have a brief chat, and get a feel for if they are likely to be a good fit for you. Logic is not always the best test for which working relationship will get the job done the most elegantly.
Practitioners who do similar work to mine:
Just in case I am unavailable, the following are some suggestions for practitioners, of the same modalities I work with, for you to consider. There’s nobody I know of who is trained in my particular mix of modalities, or works exactly as I do, but the following people are successful practitioners and do excellent work, which I have personally experienced.
For Contact C.A.R.E / Flinchlock Release Therapy, please check out the ConTact C.A.R.E website. Whilst I haven’t personally worked much with other Auckland practitioners lately, I am passionate about this way of working, and trust you will find the right person for you.
Practitioners of other modalities that I have personally worked with and recommend:
My favorite acupuncturist : Lisa Houghton
Elemental Acupuncture : Firstly, let me reassure those who may be a bit nervous about the needle part of acupuncture – Lisa is very gentle with the needles. (If you cant get past that part come and see me to sort the needle phobia, then look again at Lisa’s work…)
Lisa will also educate you about the process (which in my personal experience and opinion, is a valuable part of the treatment, but not common with many TCM practitioners that I have been to).
Lisa also has a beautiful ability to work respectfully with peoples “process”, giving you awareness of, and tools for dealing with, the emotional and non physical factors in any given health pattern. Expect a little pampering too! Ph 021 0646421, her clinics are Mother-Well in Mt Eden or out West, near Titirangi

I have personally had profound results working with Wendy. I find her to be respectful, disciplined and very accurate in her intuition, always able to bring in a bigger picture, and work right on the edge of what I need and can handle.
Ph 818 3707
I have had great results working with animals that Faye has communicated with, she often comes up with outside-the-square remedies or recommendations that make a difference.
Gut Health Guru
Ruth Kay is the lady to see. With decades of experience, she is much more than a colonic irrigation specialist. Her knowledge of gut health is positively prodigious! Ph (09) 570 7940, her clinic is in Remuera.
Dr. Yvonne Vannoort
Yvonne at Sanctuary Dental is totally committed to researching and learning a better way to work with your teeth and your whole system. From mercury removal through to modern orthodontic work, she has a beautiful gentle chair-side style, and will involve you and educate you on what she is doing.
